As reported in Daily Post, the UK based ChinaLink has secured
its first signifcant investment into Liverpool from a Chinese
company, listed in the Chinese stock exchange.
Susino (UK) Ltd, an umbrella and outdoor equipment maker from
the southern Chinese province of Fujian, has opened its UK outdoor
product centre in Speke Hall Estate Industrial Park
Ms. Xiaoya Zhang, the newly appointed General Manager of the
company, was delighted that the company has already received numerous
orders and enquiries even before the first shipment sailed into
the port of Liverpool.
When asked the reasons of their decision in choosing Liverpool,
she said that she had visited a number of UK cities and had lengthy
discussions with various advisers. It was the Liverpool-based
ChinaLink who helped them to make the decision as their UK market
adviser over the last 8 months.
Ms. Zhang first met Dr. Kegang Wu of ChinaLink on 16 February
and was impressed by his indepth knowledge of the UK market, the
hand-held approach & the ChinaLink services. Within two weeks,
Dr. Wu was on a plane to Guangzhou to meet the owner of Susino
Umbrella Co, Ltd, Mr. Anbang Wang who was known for his legendary
tale of establishing Susino from scratch. ChinaLink was appointed
as the UK business adviser to incorporate and set up the operations.
Dr. Wu, who is Director of ChinaLink said "ChinaLink is known
for setting up UK - China trade deals and joint ventures in China
for British companies.
"We have invested heavily in the last few years in gearing new
services toward the Chinese investors coming to the UK market
and have developed a range of support services, together with
our professional and public sector service partners."

which has been working with ChinaLink in marketing Merseyside
to potential Chinese investors since 2003, said: "Susino's investment

Mike Taylor and Tony O'Neil, CEO and senior investment manager
of BusinessLiverpool respectively, were involved with ChinaLink
in helping to select suitable premises in Liverpool.
Dr. Wu, who has been invited to address two Chinese national
business forums in Guangzhou and Wuxi on best practices of working
with Chinese companies in the UK market.
